The Government approved a Health Ministry bill that provides 75% discounts on health policies for Moldovan students studying abroad, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy Minister of Health Octavian Grama said the students need these policies when they return home during vacations. If the bill is passed by Parliament, the students from abroad will pay only 25% of the price of the policy. This is the price of medical insurance for three months of staying in the country.
”These students are many in number and they are good students. They stay in Moldova for three months a year cumulatively. It is evident that they must be provided with heaths services in this period,” said Prime Minister Vlad Filat. He also said that he would like the young students to return home after they complete their studies abroad and to contribute to the country’s development.
According to official data, over 5,000 Moldovans study abroad based on bilateral agreements signed by the Ministry of Education.
