Some 2000 farmers in Moldova will benefit from financial and technical support worth €8.8 million in 2025 through a program run by UCIP IFAD, with the support of the Government and the International Fund for Agricultural Development, IPN reports.

According to the information presented by UCIP IFAID, the funds will be directed towards grants, favorable loans and technical assistance for farmers. Priorities include developing irrigation infrastructure, supporting agricultural processing and supporting young entrepreneurs and women in agriculture.

Agriculture Minister Ludmila Catlabuga underlined that the program contributes to the development of the agricultural sector and job creation in rural areas.

UCIP IFAD director Iurie Usurelu said the support will help farmers to become more resilient to climate change and develop their businesses.

Project officials inform that interested farmers can access funding through local public authorities or partner financial institutions. The program is part of the "Enhancing Capacities for Rural Transformation" project launched in 2021 and implemented over six years.
