The Supreme Court of Justice upheld the decision by which the national courts sentenced seven members of a criminal group to 90 years behind bars for committing nine serious offenses, IPN reports.
In a communiqué, the General Police Inspectorate says the individuals committed a series of robberies against businessmen and peasant farm managers in the northern districts of the country. They planned every offense beforehand and committed them at night, wearing balaclavas. They also had guns on them in order to prevent resistance on behalf of the victims.
In 2011, the members of the group stole equipment and golden jewels from a number of houses. They caused damage of over 7 million lei to the victims.
