A new date of presidential elections will be set within 30 days

The legislative body will fix a new date of the presidential elections within 30 days if at least 61 or 3/5 of the lawmakers do not take part in the first round of voting. A bill to this effect was passed by Parliament in final reading on December 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Communist lawmakers did not vote for the bill. They said the AEI postpones the election of the head of state by changing the rules of the game during the game. They stressed that no MP can be forced to vote. The Liberal-Democrat MPs, who put forward the bill, explained that the participation in elections means attending the special sitting of the legislature, receiving the ballot and voting in accordance with the procedure set by the special commission for the election of the head of state.
