A President on behalf of AEI would be like England’s queen, but without dignity, opinion

“The Communists will say: we discussed and nobody should reproach us for not wanting to discuss. Look at them. Don’t you see that they argue with each other? How can we speak about constructivism? We preferred to separately negotiate with the parties as they are more united and have a certain hierarchy. But we could not identify a solution because the parties of the Alliance for European Integration are self-centered. We think about the Moldovans and how to make their lives better. So, you should vote for us, for the Communists, in the next early elections,” the editor-in-chief of the magazine “Contrafort” Vitalie Ciobanu stated for Info-Prim Neo. According to the editor-in-chief, the aim of the Communists is not to elect the head of state, but to cause early elections. “The Communists do not want to share the power with one of the parties of the ruling alliance. They want the whole power. What they do now is a game for the public opinion as they want to justify the future early elections. The Communists would accept a scenario whereby they could cooperate with a party only if they possess the most important levers of the government. A President fielded by the AEI or from outside Parliament would be nothing but a straw figure without influence, or a kind of queen of England, but without dignity,” said Vitalie Ciobanu. He also said that only God knows what’s going on behind the closed doors, what the party leaders discuss and what signs they give under the table. He considers the AEI will ultimately yield to the PCRM’s demands. The Communists want to hold separate discussions so as to easier blackmail the politicians of the ruling alliance. Vitalie Ciobanu believes the PCRM wants to provoke more arguments among the members of the AEI in order to play its own game. “Inviting the PCRM to negotiations, Dumitru Diacov said clearly that the invitation was from the AEI. The fact that Vladimir Voronin claims the invitation was issued in the name of the Democratic Party shows that the Communists want nothing else but to split the alliance,” he said.
