The local public authorities will receive 960,000 lei for supporting district and municipal grant programs intended for youth organizations and youth initiative groups. A decision to this effect was approved by the Government on August 12, IPN reports.
According to Minister of Education Anatolie Topală, the money will be used to increase the civic activism of young people, including among those with reduced opportunities, and to support the young people at community level.
The money will go to two municipal councils, of Chisinau and Bălți, and to 13 district councils that planned funds for youth programs this year, including of the districts of Anenii Noi, Cahul, Criuleni, Soroca etc.
Six local councils will get by 100,000 lei, while the other councils between 15,000 and 80,000 lei.
Currently, the Ministry of Education has 22 partnerships with the local authorities.
