Actor Gheorghe Griu is back on screen

After a 15 years break, actor Gheorghe Griu is back on the screen, featuring in a short movie called “In Outer Space” and produced by Victor Ciobanu, Info-Prim Neo reports. “In Outer Space” is a move about two people sitting on the bench in the park. Prompted by the a billboard in front of them, the characters start a controversy and discover that they have the same profession and similar unfulfilled dreams. The movie characters are played by Gheorghe Griu, a sex-symbol of the 1980s, and young actor Sergiu Voloc. Victor Ciobanu said that Gheorghe Griu easily accepted the invitation to act in the movie. Moreover, the actor is ready to continue his career. “The movie is an artistic manifesto unto society of the Republic of Moldova and especially unto art people. Art people from Moldova should give up on complaining and self-pity and should be more active and open-minded to social problems”, said Victor Ciobanu. The movie was made with the contribution of several students from TV Direction department of the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts in Chisinau. Soon the movie will be posted on several national websites. In October 2011, the General Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca had an appointment with Gheorghe Griu. They had a conversation over dinner. Afterwards, the actor was admitted at the Center for homeless people in Stauceni.
