If the Party of Socialists puts forward new conditions for the eventual cooperation with the Bloc ACUM, it will be clear that this party does not want a compromise. The Party “Action and Solidarity” and the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” decided to support a Socialist nominee for Parliament Speaker at a time when confidence in the Socialists is equal to zero, but the goal is to break the political stalemate, the leaders of the two parties, Maia Sandu and Andrei Năstase, noted in the program “In Depth” on ProTV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.

“The decisions we took are not part of a game. We are serious people and assumed very important decisions that could cost us in time. It’s something normal and we chose to take this chance. We are not sure that something will happen. The ball is now in the Socialists’ court,” stated Maia Sandu.

The PAS leader noted there are signals on the part of the Socialists that are not very encouraging, but one more chance is offered to them. “We hope things will become clearer tomorrow morning and we will manage to start this process of liberation of the country,” said the politician.

According to her, only a Government formed of professionals will be accepted and the Socialists agreed that professionals who do not form part of political parties should be named to the posts of ministers of defense, foreign affairs and interior.

PPDA leader Andrei Năstase said things are delayed and this favors the Democratic Party. In the discussions with the Socialists, they will accept the de-oligarchization package as a starting point and this subject was agreed with the PSRM in the previously held discussions.

The leaders of the two parties noted they will be waiting for the Socialists to discussions in the morning of June 7 so as to examine in detail each point of the future cooperation arrangement. If the Socialists do not come to discussions or put forward new conditions, it will be clear that the PSRM does not really want to reach a compromise and only pretended to be ready to cooperate.

The Political Bloc ACUM invited again the Party of Socialists to continue the dialogue in the evening of June 6 or in the morning of June 7 in the Parliament Building at 8:30am. The entity noted the invitation was issued following the decisions assumed by the National Political Councils of the two constituent parties of the Bloc ACUM – PAS and PPPDA.
