UNFPA Moldova delivered modern gynecological examination chairs adapted for women with special needs as well as consumables and bedclothes for mothers and newborns to gynecology and pediatric units of the Balti and Edineț Hospitals, IPN reports.
“We appreciate the support and thank you for your assistance. Owing to these devices, we will be able to provide the medical assistance needed by each patient, while the health workers will have modern equipment to ensure free access to specialized services,” said Gheorghe Brînza, director of the Balti Clinical Hospital.
“UNFPA Moldova, with the support of the Government of the United States, continues to equip hospitals in the country. This year we aim to outfit eight medical institutions and to continue to support the medical institutions of strategic importance for reproductive health all over the country,” it is said in a press release issued by UNFPA.
In 2022, UNFPA equipped seven perinatal centers and two hospitals that provide gynecological services. Owing to this actions, approximately 15,000 refugee women and women from the Republic of Moldova have benefitted from modern conditions in maternity hospitals and specialized hospitals.
