AEI leaders meet to discuss presidential election issue

The leaders of the Alliance for European Integration will come together for a meeting on October 25 to discuss the subject of the election of the head of state, Vlad Filat announced after a meeting with ministers and lawmakers of the Liberal-Democratic Party, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The election of the President of Moldova is an absolute priority for us. We will do our utmost for the head of state to be voted in. I mean reaching a reasonable compromise for this to happen. This viewpoint will be stated in the meeting and we are to start work, which includes communication, dialogue, negotiations. On November 18, we must end a period of time that already seems interminable,” said the Liberal-Democrat leader. On November 18, the legislative body is to elect the President of Moldova. Marian Lupu remains for the time being the AEI’s candidate for the presidency. The meeting is set to start at 7pm.
