The signing of the agreement on the formation of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) 3 will take place at the Palace of the Republic today, July 23, at 2pm. The announcement was made by the leaders of the parties that form part of the alliance after the discussions held this morning. The name of the candidate for premiership hasn’t been made public, IPN reports.
This evening, the leaders will have one more meeting. Afterward the consultations centering on the appointment of the new Government, held by the head of state, will continue. The President is to discuss the candidate for Premier with all the parliamentary groups.
The leader of the PDM Marian Lupu said that after the signing ceremony, the parties will have meetings inside factions to discuss the candidates for Prime Minister and Head of Parliament. Afterward, the head of state will be requested to launch consultations so that the Government could be voted in.
Neither the leader of the PDM Vlad Filat revealed the name of the candidate for premiership, saying this information will be provided after the accord is signed. At this evening’s meeting, they will prepare all the procedures needed to invest the Government.
The chairman of the PL Mihai Ghimpu said that all the details will be finally agreed after the meeting with the candidates for Premier and Speaker. The names of the future ministers were not included in the accord.
