The Chisinau International Airport resumed work. Two planes have taken off this morning and a plane from Kiev is expected to land at about 9.30, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting sources at the airport. Two planes set off for Cartersville and Saint-Petersburg this morning. The flight from Chisinau to Budapest that was to take off at 5.45 was cancelled. The flights to and from Bucharest, Budapest, Frankfurt and Milan were also suspended. The air traffic control authority MoldATSA announced that the airspace was preliminarily reopened from Monday evening, 22.38, until Tuesday, 15.00. According to MoldATSA, the volcanic ash concentration decreased significantly and if the weather conditions are stable the Moldovan airspace will remain open after 15.00 as well. More than 50 flights have been cancelled in Moldova during three days owing to the volcanic ash cloud coming from southern Iceland. The plans of about 8,000 passengers have been foiled.
