Alexandru Tanase elected Constitutional Court chairman

Judge Alexandru Tanase was voted in as chairman of the Constitutional Court, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I was elected chairman by the vote of five judges and I hope the Court will work peacefully in continuation and its decisions will be of a high quality,” Alexandru Tanase told the press immediately after the meeting. Dumitru Pulbere was dismissed from the post of chairman of the Constitutional Court last week following an application filed by judge Victor Puscas. Pulbere’s assertion that the legislative body must be dissolved until September 28 was considered by his colleagues from the Constitutional Court as political in character. But Dumitru Pulbere remained to work as a constitutional judge.
