Over 340 children were transferred to a larger school, where at least 50 students study. Their parents will receive monthly allowances of 1,000 lei. The Ministry of Education and Research approved the list of recipients and the payment will be made starting the month that follows the month of application, IPN reports.
The money can be picked up at post offices all over the country. The allowance is granted for a period of two years, except for the months of June-August, and the amounts are nontaxable.
The Ministry of Education and Research noted that the transfer of students from small schools to larger schools brings a series of benefits. Children will have access to better equipped laboratories and schoolrooms equipped with modern equipment. They will be able to go to larger libraries and use a wider range of instructional materials. Also, a larger school offers more academic opportunities and a higher level of training.
