Almost 1 million lei collected for flood victims during TRM telemarathon

751.768 lei, US$20 and €2,855 was raised during the telemarathon held by the national public broadcaster Teleradio Moldova (TRM) on July 11 to collect money for flood victims. “The money will be transferred to the Ministry of Finance's account. It will be then distributed by the state institutions,” Teleradio Moldova head Constantin Marin stated for Info-Prim Neo. Besides money, the people donated food products and clothes. The aid will be taken to flood victims by employees of Teleradio Moldova or will be transmitted to the Agency for Material Reserves. “The telemarathon was aimed at raising funds for flood victims and sensitizing the people to the problems faced by these persons. Different people, including families with children and disabled persons, donated what they could,” Constantin Marin said. He also said the information about the SMSes sent to donate money for flood victims will become known today. An estimated 120,000 lei was collected by SMEs.
