The volume of gas consumption in February amounted to 148.9 million cubic meters, 37.7% more than in the same month of 2024. Compared to January 2025, this indicator increased by 13.4 million cubic meters, which is almost 10%, IPN reports.
According to Moldovagaz, as of February 28, domestic consumers paid 90.6% of the amounts billed this year, which is equal to the same period last year. In the case of non-household consumers, the share of transfers amounted to 97.2% or by 1.9 percentage points more compared to the same period last year. Businesses in the energy and heat sector paid their bills in full, as they did last year.
In February, 451 consumption units were disconnected from the gas distribution network, the amount of debts amounted to almost 3.336 million lei. At the same time, 165 consumers were subject to the condition of preventive payment, as a consequence of the previous termination of supply, for non-payment of the value of the gas consumed.
According to Moldovagaz data, the level of payment of natural gas consumption for the volume supplied as of February 28 is 95.4%, which is 0.3 percentage points more compared to 2024.
The gas consumed in February is to be paid in March, invoices have already been sent.
