Nearly 50,000 evergreens will be provided by the nurseries of Moldsilva Agency this year. The first trees were put on sale a week ago and the sale process will continue until December 31.
In a response to an inquiry made by IPN, Moldsilva said that 42,665 of the almost 50,000 trees are spruces, while 6,841 are pines. About 7,000 branches of evergreen trees will also be available.
A meter of spruce costs 36 lei and up, of pine – slightly over 25 lei, while branches are sold for 8 lei apiece.
Those who want to purchase an evergreen directly from nurseries can visit www.silvicultura.md to get in touch with the chief forest engineer and obtain the necessary information.
At the market, a felled fir tree is sold for several hundred lei, while firs in pots that are about 1.5 meters in height cost 500-700 lei.
