An electoral meeting held in Bacioi commune of Chisinau municipality in the evening of June 23 ended with the hospitalization of two minors after the participants got into a fight. According to the Emergency Medicine Institute, the two children, aged 5 and 10, were taken to the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau after they suffered gas poisoning.
Contacted by phone by IPN, the head of the press service of the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir said the preliminary investigations showed that one of the participants in the meeting tried to calm things down with tear gas. Owing to the altercations, the gas reached the two children who were nearby. Those involved in the incident will be summoned to make statements. Those who caused the clashes face fines.
The spokesman for the Mother and Child Institute Doru Dendiu has told IPN that the state of health of the two children is satisfactory. They weren’t seriously affected and are out of danger.
