Parliament adopted in the first reading a bill to amend and supplement the law on the organization of gambling proposed by a group of Democratic MPs, IPN reports.
The draft law bans participation in gaming activities with an increased social risk by persons younger than 21 and in gaming activities with a reduced social risk by persons younger than 18.
The program of games of chance will be updated daily on the official website of the organizer.
In the debates on the bill, Lib-Dem Maria Ciobanu said the MPs of their group will not vote for this draft law as this is in the interests of the mafia clans, not of the people. As a result, the Lib-Dems left the assembly hall.
The Liberals also left after saying they would not support the bill because this encourages the people to earn money not by work, but by games of chance.
The Socialists argued the draft law does not address the problems existing in gambling and withdrew when the bill was put to the vote. The Communists followed their example.
A quorum was yet presence in the assembly hall and the bill was passed by a majority of votes in the first reading.
