Imports of cereal and oilseed crops originating in countries that account on average for 10% of total imports will not be subject to provisional licensing. The provision is contained in a draft law approved today by Parliament in two readings, IPN reports.

The legislative initiative, drafted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, will enter into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

The ministry will issue an order establishing the list of countries from which imports will be subject to licensing.

The measure to license the import of cereals and oilseeds was first introduced on October 11, 2023, and subsequently extended. Including farmers' associations have requested the extension of the controlled import of cereals and oilseeds from Ukraine.
