Doctors of the Clinical Traumatology and Orthopedic Hospital and health professionals from the U.S. exchange experience in treating burns and providing primary medical assistance to patients with combined traumas, including in situations of calamities. The meeting is held in Chisinau, IPN reports.

The Hospital’s former director, university professor Anatolie Taran said the value and training capacity of medical personnel increase within such activities that are not the first of the kind.

Roger Diaz, physicians assistant in the North Carolina National Guard, said he came to Moldova to share his experience of looking after patients with burns. “Medicine is constantly changing and we are here both to learn and to show what techniques and dressings we use,” he stated.

Burns expert Ernest Grant said the visit to Moldova has two dimensions. On the one hand, they want to familiarize themselves with the practices employed here. On the other hand, they present the experience of the U.S. so that the patients from both of the sides ultimately benefit from the best care.

Practical lessons and seminars in such a format have been staged the second year.
