The representatives of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPDA), the Party “Action and Solidarity”, the European People’s Party of Moldova and the Liberal Democratic Party agreed on the profile of the candidate for President and decided that this candidate should be chosen by experts, the leader of the PPDA Andrei Nastase said in the program “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.
“In the last meeting, we agreed on the profile of the future candidate for the presidential elections. This should be a person of integrity, with popularity among the people. Someone suggested that this should be well-known abroad. I think that Plahotniuc and Filat are rather well-known outside the country. By the candidate we will suggest, we will aim to consolidate society around a common cause – replacement of the oligarchic regime,” stated the politician.
Andrei Nastase expressed his optimism about the chances of nominating a common candidate for President, noting that the discussions between the four parties will continue.
In the same program, journalist Vitalie Calugareanu said the four parties will most probably not manage to reach a consensus on the candidate for the presidential elections.
