Today’s visit by the delegation of the U.S. Congress to Moldova will end with a press briefing held jointly by Deputy Head of Parliament Andrian Candu and U.S. Senator John McCain. The event will take place at the State Residence situated on Nicolae Iorga St, starting at 16.45, IPN reports.
The briefing will be preceded by the meeting of a group of Moldovan MPs with the group of U.S. senators. The program of the U.S. delegation also includes a meeting with Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, participation in a session of answers and questions with Moldovan students at the Academy of Economic Studies (12:15), and a meeting with President Nicolae Timofti (15:10). After the press beefing, the U.S. senators are expected to visit the Cricova cellars. The delegation will leave Moldova at 22:30.
The delegation of the U.S. Congress includes senators John McCain, John Barrasso, John Hoeven, and Ron Johnson. According to the communiqués issued by the Moldovan authorities, the visit forms part of the Strategic Dialogue between the United States and Moldova and is a signal of U.S support for the Moldovan citizens and the democratic and economic transformations.
