Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu reacted to President Igor Dodon’s intention to take part in the festivities that will be staged in Transnistria to mark the 25th anniversary of the constitution of the peacekeeping mission there and to confer state awards on Russian peacekeepers. In a published message, the Speaker says the President boasts of the fact that he violates the Constitution. Moreover, Igor Dodon mixes up the state awards with protocol presents, IPN reports.

“President Dodon boasted on a Russian TV channel that he flouts and will flout the country’s Constitution in order to show his support for Moscow. Angry with the Parliament’s firm position stated through the Statement on the withdrawal of the Russian military forces, Igor Dodon promises medals to Russian and Transnistrian soldiers and opens up a bleeding wound. Dodon mixes up the state awards with protocol presents,” Andrian Candu wrote on his Facebook page.

“Don’t make us think that the President has too many prerogatives, Mister Dodon.”

In an interview for the Russian TV channel Rossia 24, President Dodon said he will take part in the activities organized in Tiraspol on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the peacekeeping mission will confer state awards on Russian peacekeepers in appreciation of their mission in the region.
