The court sentenced the other two authors of the crime committed in Meleșeni village of Călăraşi district last October, when a female employee of the local mayor’s office was beaten to death. One of the culprits got 12 years, while another was sentenced to life for robbery, deliberate murder and involvement of a minor in criminal activity. The minor last yearend was given three years and eight months for robbery, IPN reports.

The Prosecutor General’s Office said the two culprits, in collusion with a minor, entered the home of woman from Meleșeni, tied and beat her cruelly and stole 4,000 lei from her. The woman died as a result of her injuries.

A female neighbor of the woman found the body in a day and alerted the police.

Meanwhile, two of the culprits fled the country and were put on the wanted list. The 17-yer-old boy was from Meleșeni and his duty was to inform his accomplices about potential victims who possessed money.

The two culprits were arrested near the Romanian-Hungarian border in about a month of the commission of the crime. They were extradited from Romania and brought to justice.

The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
