ANRCETI to attend first meeting of telecoms regulators of Eastern Partnership countries

A delegation of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) will take part in the first meeting of the telecommunications regulators of the countries covered by the Eastern Partnership, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communique, the Agency says the meeting will center on the implementation of the regulatory framework of the European Union in the Eastern Partnership countries, the analysis of the telecoms markets and identification of providers with significant power on them, optimization of the use of limited resources, putting into practice of the Universal Service. The meeting will be attended by officials of the European Commission and the Body of European Regulators of Electronic Communications, and representatives of regulatory authorities from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, and Ukraine. The Moldovan delegation will be headed by the ANRCETI director Sergiu Satnic. The meeting organized by the European Commission and the Austrian Regulatory Authority for Broadcasting and Telecommunications will take place in Vienna on October 7-8. The Body of European Regulators of Electronic Communications was set up in January 2010, under a regulation by the European Parliament and the European Council. Its aim is to work out and implement uniform electronic communications regulatory practices at European level.
