The antihail protection area was extended by about 64,000 hectares. Six new antihail rocket points became active in central Moldova as of June 22, 2017. These cover the districts of Calarasi and Hancesti, IPN has learned from the Civil Aviation Authority.
The organization and carrying out of activities to launch antihail rockets will be based on the cooperation agreement between the air traffic services authority MoldATSA, the command of the Air Forces of the Ministry of Defense and the Special Service for Active Influence on Hydrometeorological Processes.
The Civil Aviation Authority will monitor the process of activating and deactivating the airspace so as to ensure flight safety.
A number of 121 rocket impact points will be active in the course of 2017.
The antihail protection period lasts from April 15 until September 30.
