Applications for presidency can be filed from today

Those who want to apply for the post of President of Moldova can submit applications from today, December 5. The candidates must file seven documents to the special commission for the election of the head of state, the commission’s head Tudor Deliu has told Info-Prim Neo. The required documents are: the application with the confirmation that at least 15 MPs support the candidate, the personal consent to run in the elections, the medical certificate issued by an empowered institution, the income statement for the previous year and the year when the elections take place, the CV, and the copy of the identity card. The special commission will accept applications every day between 2pm and 5pm, until December 13, 7pm. The candidates for the presidency must be older than 40, have lived in Moldova during the past ten years and know the official language. The legislative body will make another attempt to elect the head of state on December 16. No candidate was registered for the November 18 elections and thus they were declared null and void.
