The Cubolta River, on the territory of Plop village in Donduseni district, will be cleaned and revitalized. For the purpose, the Ministry of Environment will allocate 17 million lei, IPN reports.
The allocated amount will be used to clean 4 km of the riverbed, deepen the riverbed, strengthen the banks, plant trees and landscape the area. “This initiative will not only improve the functionality of the river, but will also give the inhabitants of Plop village the opportunity to rediscover the beauty of this watercourse, which many remember from childhood,” reads a press release issued by the Ministry of Environment.
In recent years, the Cubolta River and its springs have suffered from siltation and excessive vegetation growth, which affected its quality and natural appearance.
