Authorities promise to help Moldovans who can no longer work in Russia

The Moldovans who returned home from Russia following the bans imposed by the Russian authorities will represent a priority for the National Employment Agency. Such a decision was taken in the February 19 meeting of heads of local employment agencies, held at the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, IPN reports.

Minister Valentina Buliga asked that every local employment agency should designate by a person who would make effort to find employment for the Moldovans who returned from Russia. Closer cooperation relations will be established with economic entities so as to identify vacancies. There will be organized requalification courses and information campaigns that will involve local social workers.

According to the data made public in the meeting, 21,500 Moldovans were banned from entering Russia because they violated the rules of staying in this country, the employment rules or committed other violations. The Embassy of Russia in Moldova said that 5,000 Moldovans were not allowed to cross the border so far this year. Another almost 240,000 form part of the risk group.

At the start of this year, Russia imposed new rules of stay for foreigners. The citizens of other countries can stay in Russia without visas or work permits for only 90 days within six months.
