The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family will stage informal club meetings where to systematize the proposals of those who will benefit from the improved procedure for setting social benefit and cold-month allowances. The meetings will be also attended by politicians and local elected officials of the first and second levels, IPN reports.
Minister Valentina Buliga told a news conference that the club meetings will be held quarterly. This year there will be created the National Consultative Council that will consist of functionaries of the Ministry, members of Parliament, and of representatives of academic circles, trade unions and employers, NGOs and development partners. The Council will serve as a discussion platform for more transparently formulating social policies. It will work out a national action plan for combating poverty and social exclusion.
More than 56,000 people received social benefit, while over 73,000 benefited from cold-month allowances last year.
