A former commander of the Aviation Base is accused of abuse of power and appropriation of state property. The Balti Military Prosecutor’s Office sent to court the case against the commander, who had also the rank of colonel, IPN reports.
The prosecutors established that in 2014 – 2015, being a person holding a responsible post, the culprit illegally allowed a civilian to use a military mobile power station to the value of 40,332 lei. In a year, the colonel sold the military property to the same person for 12,000 lei. The money was used for personal purposes.
The colonel admitted partially his blame. If he is found guilty, he will serve up to six years in jail and will be banned from holding particular posts or performing particular activities for a period of up to five years.
