Awards handed to young people with special achievements

Young people with special achievements in various fields were awarded yesterday, November 13, at the Youth Gala 2012. The awards were 5 prizes of 12,000 lei and 4 honorary distinctions of 3000 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The awards for Literature and Arts were handed to Viorica Ela Caraman and Valeria Duca. The former is member of the Writers’ Union and of the Jurists’ Union, and has published over 30 articles. Meanwhile, 17 year old Valeria Duca has a rich experience, including participations in 25 national and international exhibitions, and won numerous awards and honorific titles. Honorary distinctions were offered to the conductor of the Chisinau Youth Orchestra Adriano Marian, and to the authors of the World Literature schoolbook Maria Pilchin, Natalia Grau-Rosior and Ivan Pilchin.
In the Science and Technology field, the awards were handed to scientific researcher Serghiu Anghel and young philosopher and researcher Alexandru Cosmescu. The honorary mention in this category went to Ivan Duminica, author of numerous monographs.
In the Civic Activism category, the main award was given to Mircea Mitrofan, a young man involved in many volunteer projects. The special prize was offered to Ion Balan from Stefanesti village, Floresti district.
Speaker Marian Lupu said that youth were the driving force and the future of the country depended on the quality of their education and training and on the knowledge they obtain. “I wish them success, perseverance, to have fixed goals and objectives in life and career and the energy, force, will and motivation to attain these goals”.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat said that Moldova had wonderful young people who proved they were the best. “We should talk about all the young people who obtained remarkable results in international Olympiads in relevant fields, and about all those who gathered here today, emitting so much energy”.
Minister of Youth and Sport Ion Cebanu said that this event highlighted the talents of this country’s youth. “The Youth Gala is an event that remarks and brings to the fore the landmarks of our generation in various fields. We notice those young people who display their talents by achieving in arts, culture, technology and science”.
Singers Pasha Parfeni, Catalin Josan, Cristina Pintilie, Dara, the Chisinau Youth Orchestra and others performed at the Gala. The event was organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Sport as part of the Youth Week in Moldova.
