The initiators of the project “Moldo Crescendo” begin the national tour “Bach at the Cultural Hall”. The first concert is to be given at the Cultural Hall in Ialoveni on July 21. Project founder Marcel Lazar, in a news conference at IPN, said the artists will travel to nine villages and towns until August 6.
The musicians will perform in the homes of culture of Mereni and Bahrinesti villages and of Ialoveni, Ceadar Lunga, Cimislia, Calarasi, Hancesti, Rezina and Chisinau. “We will play different music. We thought together with the colleagues to adjust the repertoire given that the public hasn’t come into contact with classical music or knows this not much. We chose works that are digestible and listenable,” said the project founder.
Each concert will be photographed. Among the photographers are both known persons and beginners. Furthermore, a short film will be made about the project “Moldo Crescendo”, in a documentary and artistic manner.
Violoncellist Radu Croitoru said they chose works of a wide range of composers for this year’s tour. “We will play from baroque to modern music together with contrabassist Victor Savca and actress Lia Sinkevich,” he stated.
Actress Lia Sinkevich said she joined the project because this can help realize the huge potential of the cultural halls of the country. “We produced an original piece of music based on the poem “Luceafarul”, trying somehow to go into a trance related to what I feel when I interpret the story of “Luceafarul” and to transpose it to musical notes so as to be in tune with the boys of the project,” she stated.
The project is financially supported by the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova and by Moldovans from the diaspora. EU Delegation Project Manager Fabien Schaeffer said the Delegation supports this project namely because the public consists of people who didn’t have many occasions to be in contact with the music. “There are many activities in Chisinau, but not many are staged in villages and other towns. Preserving the heritage is an important element of the project. There are homes of culture everywhere in Moldova and there are many renovation requests. It is important that a breath of fresh air be given to the cultural halls,” stated Fabien Schaeffer.
Victoria Nagy Vajda, the representative of the Moldovan diaspora, said when such a project is implemented in the Republic of Moldova, the artistic sensibility of the people can be increased. “We are very glad that we can contribute and bring classical music from Chisinau to the villages and towns of Moldova. A person cannot live without beauty and cannot be happy if they see nothing except the family and job and do not attend cultural events organized by artists,” she stated.
The project “Moldo Crescendo” was initiated after the competition of the project “Moldo Crescendo Conace” to repair mansions and promote the architectural heritage.
