Bailiff penalized for fifth time this year

Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim made a new order to suspend bailiff Anatolie Chihai. It is the fifth time this year that the bailiff is penalized. This time, the decision was taken following a challenge submitted by representatives of the company Lion-Gri, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Justice, Anatolie Chihai issued an order to levy about 2.7 million lei that was calculated as overdue payment on a debt, despite a definitive decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeals, by which the creditor’s request to levy that sum was declared as illegal. The challenge of Lion-Gri and the application to hold Anatolie Chihai disciplinarily accountable will be examined by the Disciplinary Board of Bailiffs, which will take a final decision on this case. Two orders to withdraw the license and three orders to suspend Anatolie Chihai have been made this year. Every time the bailiff appealed the decisions of the Disciplinary Board and the Ministry of Justice to court and was allowed to continue work, at least until the trials close. Currently, the cases are examined by the Chisinau Court of Appeals.
