Ballet artists entitled to pension after at least 20 years of work

The ballet artists and members of folk dance groups will be entitled to pension if they have a length of service of at least 20 years, while the circus artists, acrobats, equilibrists, trainers, clowns and their assistants, and orchestra wind instrumentalists – a length of service of 25 years. The list of posts for which the right to pension is given to certain groups of culture employees was agreed by the Government in its last meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said that the provisions as regards the right to pension of these groups of employees were vague until now. “In the last but one meeting of the Government, we approved the given amendments to the legislation and now agreed the exhaustive list of culture employees who will receive pensions if they have the required length of service when they stop work,” said the minister. The average pension in culture is 1 148 lei. The average pension of ballet artists is 1 197 lei, of wind instrumentalists - 988 lei, while of folk dancers and orchestra singers (soloists) − 992 lei.
