New misunderstandings appeared between the lawmakers of the Liberal Party (PL) and the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM). This time, the Liberals refused to accept amendments to a bill that gives new powers to the Prime Minister. The bill was remitted to the commission on economy, budget and finance for reexamination, Info-Prim Neo reports. The amendments were proposed to the law on state reserves. If they are passed, the Premier will be empowered to order the immediate release of goods from the state reserves in emergencies. The authors of the amendments say this way there will be created conditions for taking immediate measures to deal with the consequences of natural or other kinds of disasters. The misunderstandings arose after the head of the commission on economy, budget and finance, Liberal-Democrat Veaceslav Ionita did not say in Parliament that the commission disapproved of the bill. Liberal lawmaker Vadim Cojocaru intervened, asking that the legislative body should not be misled. “The commission did not accept the bill. We were against. Why don’t you tell the truth?” he asked. After long discussions and comments, Head of Parliament Marian Lupu said he will send back the bill to the commission for reexamination. In the July 14 sitting, the PL and PLDM accused each other after the Liberal-Democrats did not vote in favor of including the Liberals’ initiative to give additional powers to the mayor of Chisinau in the agenda.
