BCC imposes fines on three TV channels

The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) fined three national television channels for not obeying the advertisement broadcasting rules. Muz TV was fined 3,600 lei for not respecting the allowed advertising period in a program. For the same violation and for broadcasting hidden advertisements, the TV channels N4 and Pro TV Chisinau will pay the highest fine of 5,400 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. Besides being fined, Pro TV Chisinau was warned publicly for other violations identified by the BCC, including the low percentage of national programs, of only 8%. A recommendation was made for the television channel Publika TV, as regards the program delimitation area, while Ru Tv was warned about the advertising-related violations. The penalties were imposed in the May 23 meeting of the BCC. The mentioned channels had been monitored between March 8 and 12.
