On World Cleanup Day, the Moldovans are urged to take cleaning measures throughout the country. According to the Ministry of Environment, the activities will be carried out throughout the Republic of Moldova until Sunday, September 29, IPN reports.
Citizens are encouraged to participate in the cleanup campaign in any locality, together with family, friends or neighbors, to clean the local forests, parks, streets or places near their homes.
The aim of the activities is to promote recycling and waste reduction practices to protect the environment. “If each of us produces less waste and gets involved in cleaning actions, we will have cleaner and more comfortable communities. Plastic bottles, bags, paper and other types of solid waste continuously pollute soil, air, and water, and every bag of waste collected is a step towards a sustainable and healthy future. Through joint cleaning actions, we promote ecological responsibility and contribute to the fight against climate change,” reads a press release from the Ministry of Environment.
World Cleanup Day is marked annually to encourage communities to get involved in cleanup activities and aims to raise awareness of environmental issues and the importance of proper waste management for a cleaner environment.
