A new electronic service was laucnhed on February 11. The e-Invoice service allows companies to issue and send bills or invoices without having to go to the State Tax Service headquarters, IPN reports.
The electronic service e-Invoice is to be launched in three steps: first step – pilot, for a period of to six months, within which the service is to be tested with a limited number of economic entities. At the end of this stage, soft adjustments shall be done, if necessary. The second step - experimental area, to be launched under testing regime of the program for all the economic entities, starting from June 2014. The final step - the industrial launch, relates to the nationwide E-invoice service use, starting from January 2015.
Attending the launch ceremony, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said the provision of public services in electronic format is an important element in the elimination of corruption risks and in the process of integrating the Moldovan people and businesses into the European community. One of the EU’s priorities in this field is to have 50% of the citizens and 80% of the businessesmen using electronic services in 2015. “For the purpose, the Government in 2014 will launch a number of electronic public services such as the e-Register of Inspections, e-Authorizations for Water Use, and e-Authorizations in Transport,” he stated.
According to the State Tax Service head Ion Prisacaru, the e-Invoice provides a number of indisputable advantages to all parties involved in the process of implementing and using this service, including increased efficiency in terms of carried out transactions’ documentation, reduced risk of invoices’ counterfeiting, reduced bills and invoices printing expenses, etc.
The e-Invoice service is part of the e-Government Transformation project, supported by the World Bank and implemented by the instrumentality of the e-Governance Center.
