Reference books in such areas as art, culture, history and civilization were donated to the library of the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts on November 21. The books were provided by the Department of the Romanians Abroad. Four more university libraries of Moldova, specialized in humanities, will receive such donations.
The donation includes 1,650 copies of 259 book titles that are to be distributed to the library of the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts, the central liberty of the State University of Moldova, the library of the Teacher Training University “Ion Creanga”, the scientific library of the State University “Alecu Russo” of Balti and the library of the State University “B. P. Hasdeu” of Cahul.
The director of the library of the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts Rodica Avasiloaie has told IPN that this donation is a very important one as it ensures access to information and contributes to the improvement of the education process both of students and of teachers as well as of the broad community of library users.
“It is important because this donation was selected especially for our libraries. It meets our needs in the humanities – history, plastic arts, civilization, ethnography and other areas. The most important thing is that these books were selected at the suggestion of the beneficiary education institutions. We chose these book titles for the benefit of the users and in accordance with the requests,” noted Rodica Avasiloaie.
The donation is worth €15,000.
