Border guard stabs neighbor to death

An inspector of the Giurgiulesti Border Guard Post stabbed to death a neighbor of his while off duty in Giurgiulesti village of Cahul district on the night of March 21, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the suspect and the victim had a quarrel, but then parted and went home. At a certain moment, the border guard changed his mind and went after his neighbor. When he caught up with him, he stabbed him in the chest for several times. The victim died on the spot. The inspector threw the knife in the Prut River and went away. Next evening, a local came across the body of the man and informed the police. During investigations, the author of the crime was identified. The serviceman admitted his guilt and was placed under arrest for 30 days.
