Those who intend to cross the state border are urged to check the period of validity of their identification papers before going on trips. The Border Police made such recommendations in a move to prevent the people from facing unpleasant situations at the state border, IPN reports.
The parents are urged to make sure that the personal data of children are registered in their passports, if these were issued before January 1, 2011. The minors who possess personal passports until the age of 18 can travel accompanied by a legal representative, without the consent of the other legal representative. Those who allow the minors to travel with accompanying persons should make sure that namely those accompanying persons will present themselves at the border crossing point on the day indicated in the empowering statement.
The persons with dual nationality are recommended to present a Moldovan identification paper besides the foreign passport at the border. This way they will be exempted from additional checks for determining if the period of stay was respected. This will also help reduce the waiting time in customs.
Before going to the state border with units of transport, the drivers should examine the vehicle’s registration certificate because the temporary registration certificate allows using the unit of transport only on Moldova’s territory. Crossing the state border with units of transport in the absence of external compulsory insurance of civil liability is not allowed.
