The border police have discovered the largest volume of contraband cigarettes so far this year. A group of people intended to illegally take the cigarettes made in Moldova, to the value of about 800,000 lei, into Romania, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Border Police Department.
The cigarettes were in a truck and were to be smuggled to the neighboring village. Seven men aged between 17 and 41 were arrested. They are from different villages of Falesti district.
The investigation is continued in order to identify all the persons involved.
