Boy electrocuted to death before friends' eyes

A 12-year-old boy from Lipcani town of Briceni district died electrocuted in front of his friends' eyes on October 4. Dorina Cruc, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the children were playing on the outskirts of the town, near a transformer unit. One of the children climbed the platform that the transformer stood on and, probably in a moment of inattention, touched the high-tension power lines. Witnesses called the ambulance, but the doctors could not save the child. An investigation is underway.
