Seven TV channels were warned publicly as a result of a monitoring performed by the Broadcasting Coordination Council, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Pro TV, Euro TV, TVC 21, Alt TV, NIT, TV 7 and Jurnal TV were penalized for deviating from the Broadcasting Code when deciding the broadcast schedules, delimiting advertisements, broadcasting hidden ads, etc.
Most of the monitored TV channels published advertisements for pharmaceutical products without the obligatory syntagm stipulated in the Broadcasting Code: “This medication is released without medical prescription. In case of side effects, consult your doctor or druggists.”
According to the Council’s chairman Marian Pocaznoi, the monitoring was aimed at preventing the broadcasters from committing irregularities, not at imposing fines.
