Moldova Business Week 2016, which will take place in Chinua and other towns on October 4 -7, aims to become a platform for promoting the country’s image abroad and for identifying new possibilities of attracting investment to the national economy, IPN reports.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac told a news conference that the Government’s partners in organizing this event include the Chamber of Trade and Industry, which will stage a day dedicated to the business sector, with recommendations concerning brokerage and customs administration, the Moldova Business People’s Organization, and the Economy Ministry’s subdivisions – Moldova Investment Attraction and Export Promotion Organization and the Organization for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. The latter will launch a new project called “Women in Business” that is financed by the EU.
There will be staged presentations on the access to financing, which is one of the constraints identified by the private sector. The instruments of financing businesses provided by the development partners will be explained. Details will be provided about the budget funds available through different government programs.
The event is expected to involve over 250 people, including invitees from Romania, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. “There will be made public the principles of creating the National Trade Facilitation Committee, which is an additional commitment undertaken by Moldova following the joining of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement,” stated Octavian Calmac.
He added that a new platform for communication between the governmental institutions and the business sector will be established for solving different problems faced in the customs and fiscal areas.
The last similar event took place in 2014.
