The cabinet has approved the allocation of 11.6 million lei from the reserve fund to finance compensations within the "First Home" government program . The funds represent the budget for the months of September and October.
Finance Minister Dumitru Budianschi said that the money is needed because the allocations approved in the 2021 State Budget Law are insufficient to fully finance the payments, given the increasing number of program beneficiaries.
Between the period May-August, 742 applications were included in the waiting list. Thus, in September, 5 250 beneficiaries are expected to receive compensation.
It is estimated that by the end of 2021, 6000 beneficiaries will receive compensations under the program.
