Prime Minister Iurie Leanca on August 29 convoked the Cabinet members responsible for the country’s security for a closed-door meeting. After the meeting, the officials told the journalists that such meetings are held regularly and are not unordinary, IPN reports.
Minister of Defense Valeriu Troenco said the situation is under control. “We see no reasons for concern. We sympathize with those from Ukraine who go through suffering,” he stated. Asked if the army is ready, the minister said it must always be ready for everything.
Iurie Leanca didn’t make statements for the press, but his spokeswoman Liliana Vitu-Esanu said the meeting centered on the measures that must be taken at the level of state institutions given the regional situation. No other details were provided .
