People on both banks of the Nistru River are invited to identify cultural heritage objects in their neighborhood that need restoration and propose their vision on the need and impact of such an initiative on the cultural heritage, IPN reports.
According to UNDP Moldova, the proposed idea should comply with the following criteria: located on right and/or left banks of the Nistru River; represent either movable (historical buildings, monuments, archaeological sites, natural environment objects etc.) or immovable nature (documentaries, movies, paintings, photographs, books, collections, etc.); have a confidence building measures dimension, etc.
The Call for ideas is launched within the framework of the EU fund for conservation-restoration of cultural heritage, as part of the EU Confidence Building Measures Program (EU-CBM) that is implemented by UNDP.
One of the EU-CBM objectives is to support the conservation and restoration of historical monuments of national importance and of smaller scaled historical heritage endangered which are considered to have a national historical interest for both banks of Nistru. In addition to Bender Fortress and Chisinau Circus, where preparation processes have already been launched, the Program intends to support up to ten smaller scale heritage objects by allocating up to €40,000 per object.
Those interested can propose their vision by filling an application form. The preliminary deadline for submissions is January 31, 2020.
